Reduced Course Load

Definition of Full Course of Study for Immigration Purposes:
Please refer to this guide on what's considered a Full Course of Study for international students at FSU to ensure you are always registered for the correct number of credit hours. Falling below a full course of study will result in termination of your SEVIS record.
See our FAQs on a Full Course of Study/Reduced Course Load for more information and examples.

Less than a Full Course Load:
The deadline to submit the form to request a reduced course load for Spring 2007 if you are eligible for it, is January 10, Wednesday at NOON. The reduced course load must be approved by an adviser and authorized in SEVIS by the last day of drop/add for the semester. The form is available below:

Use this form if this is your last semester of study and you need less than a full course load to complete your degree requirements.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you find that you will not be able to graduate, you still need to enroll in some hours the next semester, and your DS-2019 is about to expire, make sure that you ask for an extension of your DS-2019 and talk to an adviser about the possibility of a reduced enrollment for a consecutive semester.
IMPORTANT NOTE:  After drop/add, DO NOT make any changes in your enrollment until you have consulted with and received approval from an International Center adviser.

All forms are available in alternative format upon request.
